Eleanor Virginia Howard

Eleanor was born in Houston, Texas on September 9, 1937 to Leo & Francis Manfré and resided in Houston her entire life. She was the youngest child of the family, with Anthony as her older brother and Vita as her older sister. She attended St. Anne Catholic School and St. Agnes Academy, graduating in 1955. She met the love of her life, Phillip, while working at the same finance company and celebrated 60 years of marriage together. Eleanor had five children: Tina, Susan, Vickie, Cindy and Todd; Tina and Susan preceded her in death. She had two son-in-laws, Chris King and Doug Card and one daughter-in-law, Kristine Howard.

Eleanor was graced with seven grandchildren: Ashley Card, Weston Card, Kaitlin Howard, Alexis King, Olivia Howard, Hudson Card and Reese Howard. She had 13 nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Being around family was where Eleanor was the most comfortable and happiest.

She will be remembered as a mother who “was always there.” She was loving, dependable, caring, God-loving, supportive and selfless. She always loved us for who we were, not an image of what was supposed to be! And of course, her Christmas celebrations will be remembered as magical!

We look forward to the day God’s glory reunites us again. Rest in peace Eleanor with Susie and Tina, your mom and dad and all your family that preceded you. Keep a watchful eye on us until that glorious day when we meet you in the clouds.

A funeral service for Eleanor will be held Saturday, December 26, 2020 at 1:00 PM at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home, 6900 Lawndale Street, Houston, TX 77023.
