Elizabeth "Bess" Hammond

"Bess" was born in Houston to Rosalie and Jack Graham on Valentine's Day 1934. After graduating from Incarnate Word Academy in 1952, she married and raised 7 children in the Braeburn Valley subdivision of southwest Houston. Little League baseball, carpooling her children to Holy Ghost and St. Francis de Sales Catholic Schools, and maintaining her busy household kept her happy for many years. After raising her children, Bess began her career as a pharmacy technician at the Walmart in Stafford, where she enjoyed her customers and co-workers alike before retiring in 2005.

Elizabeth was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers John, Wes, and Doc, and her youngest son Carl Ray. Those left to cherish her life are her children Debbie, Barbara, Jimmie, Johnny, Tom, and Jerry along with their spouses, children and grandchildren. Bess also leaves behind her sisters Louise and Kathy and her brother Bo, and their families.

Visitation will be on Sunday, February 10, 2013 from 5pm to 8pm with a Rosary at 7pm at Earthman Resthaven Funeral Home, 13102 North Freeway.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Holy Ghost Catholic Church, 6921 Chetwood Drive, 10:00 a.m., Monday, February 11, 2013, Rite of Committal will follow at Earthman Resthaven Cemetery.
