Betty was born to Laurence J. Derrick and Elizabeth S. Derrick on August 14,1939 in Houston, Texas. She graduated from Stephen F. Austin High School in 1957. Besides being a loving wife, mom and grandma, Betty held various jobs including dance instructor, assistant manager at Bellfort Bowling Lanes eventually retiring after 30 years of employment with National Oilwell Varco in 2014.
She is survived by her husband of over 40 years Ralph Sheets; daughter Rhonda Franke; son Timothy R. Cadwell and wife Kathryn; son Randy L. Cadwell; grandchildren Kristine Nichole Franke and husband Eric Weathers, Matthew James Franke and Desirey O’ Kane, Athena Ivy Franke, Amanda Cadwell Palacios and husband Christopher Palacios, Sr., Jennifer R. Cadwell, Rachael M. Wingate and husband Zachary, Grace E. Cadwell, and Caleb R. Cadwell; great-grandchildren Christopher David Palacios, Jr., Lana Elizabeth Palacios, Noah Patrick Palacios, Cameron and Elaina Wingate; brother Clay Derrick and wife Polly, a nephew and niece.
She is preceded in death by her parents Laurence and Elizabeth Derrick; brother Laurence Van Derrick; grandson Brandon Laurence Cadwell; first husband Rodney Cadwell.
A visitation will be held Saturday, December 14 at 11:00 a.m. The funeral service will be at 12:00 p.m. followed by the committal service.
