Ellene Lorraine Jones

Ellene Lorraine Jones was born on December 10, 1958 in Houston, Texas to the union of Clements and Dorothy Dorsey.Ellene accepted Christ at an early age. She worked diligently for many years at the church her father pastored, Jesus Christ Holy Temple.She received her formal education in the Houston Public School System. After graduating, she worked hard as a machinist for a printing company and became one of the top employees in her field. She received many awards for her hard work and dedication.In 1978, Ellene married Michael Jones. To this union two beautiful daughters were born, Tammy and Monica. Although the family dynamics changed over the years, leading to separate paths, parenthood and grand parenthood was a source of pride and joy. Ellene was a pillar of her community, everyone loved her. She had many ministries: She was a devoted mother who would go above the bounds of reasoning, she was a loving mother in law, she was an awesome grandmother, a sister, an aunt, great aunt and a good friend who was always there to help and guide others. Ellene had a very giving spirit. Ellene was preceded in death by her father, Clements Vincent Dorsey, Sr., and her siblings Geraldine White, Barbara Ann Alexander and Clements Vincent Dorsey, Jr.She is survived by her mother, Dorothy Ann Dorsey, her daughters, Tammy Guidry (Chad), Monica Powell (Michael), her grandchildren, Chase (Good News) and Caden (Lil Rock), her siblings, Evonne Sandefer, and Andrew Dorsey. Her God-daughter, Michelle McIlveen, Her special friends, Gloria and Mary, and her guard dog; Bentley who was special to her, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family members who were greatly touched by her sweet presence, wisdom and love.
