Emilio Solís Hernandez (GG), 92, passed away peacefully on February 27, 2025. Born on January 27, 1933, He lived a simple life surrounded by his loved ones. He was quick witted and loved to show it, often gaining a good laugh with those he encountered.
Emilio is preceded in death by brothers Noe and Ventura Jr., sisters Hortencia, Eloisa, Ninfa, Olga, and his son Emilio Hernandez Jr. He leaves behind his wife, Maria and a legacy of greatness through his surviving children, Consuelo Hernandez, Randy Hernandez, Roger & Julie Hernandez, Maria Alicia & Richard Vrana, David and Daniel Meraz - along with 12 grandchildren, and earning him the title of GG, 36 great grandchildren, 37 great-great grandchildren.
We extend heartfelt gratitude to all who checked in, visited, and took great care of him in the last few years and those that prayed for him in his final days and hours.
Although our hearts are grieving, there is peace in knowing he has made his way to paradise and is resting easy.
We will cherish the little things that always brought him joy, whether it be sharing pan dulce with cafecito or enjoying the sunshine while sitting on the patio. His sly smile that brightened his whole face when offered a fresh peppermint candy will be the moments to remember.
A visitation for Emilio will be held Sunday, March 9, 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM Refreshments and appetizers will be provided. A funeral service will occur Monday, March 10, 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, followed by a committal service from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM, at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home, 6900 Lawndale Street, Houston, TX 77023.
