Ernie Laura Jackowski

Ernie Jackowski passed from this life to the presence of her Heavenly Father on May 5, 2013. Born November 15, 1918 in Fedor,Texas to Ida (Symank) & Carl Jatzlau, she was the oldest of four children, three brothers Oswald, Gilbert, & Werner Jatzlau. Raised on a farm, she attended Trinity Lutheran School in Fedor, Texas. In 1934 she moved to Houston to be a Nanny; she loved children. In Houston she met her husband Robert and they married November 25, 1943. Robert died after 57 years of marriage. They were blessed with 3 sons, Michael, who died a infant, and two who are left to mourn her death, Robert & wife Betty, Patrick & wife Gail. Ernie was proud of her six grandchildren, Michael and fiance, Jordyn, Mark, Matthew & Karen Jackowski, Robyn Bilski & husband Patrick, Kelly Weisenfels & husband Jay. Her four Great-Granddaughters who brightened her world, Carli & Chloe Jackowski and Sarah & Loryn Bilski.

Ernie was a great cook. She will be remembered for her Noodles & Turkey Dressing. She love to play dominoes with her friends and now we know she’s up in heaven finding players for a 42 game.

Visitation will be Wednesday, May 8, 2013 from 6-8 p.m. at Heights Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 9, 2013 at 10 a.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Houston, with interment at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery immediately following the service.
