Estella is survived by her loving husband of 66 years, Manuel S. Gonzales. She will forever be cherished by her family: Theresa Silguero, spouse David, Manuel Jr. (Rocky), spouse Sandra, Gloria Bernal, spouse Jose Victor, Ricardo, spouse Anna, 11 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her 5 brothers and 4 sisters. Estella is preceded in death by her parents, step-mother Concepcion, brother Jesse and sister Josie.
She was born on March 22, 1935 to Blas and Felicitas in New Caney, Texas. Her high school years were spent in New Caney with the guidance and love of her aunt Dubelza Espinosa, and she moved back to Houston before her wedding. She worked at United Finance Company for a brief time and then became a full-time housewife, mother, and grandmother. Estella loved being a mother and a grandmother. She liked baking everything from cookies to her children’s wedding cakes and grandchildren’s birthday cakes. She enjoyed quilting, doing crossword puzzles, putting puzzles together, and sewing. Estella loved sharing the game of canasta and showing her competitive side. She was a member of the North Channel Quilt Guild and served as a volunteer at Resurrection Catholic Church. Estella truly enjoyed being with family. Her unexpected death is still a shock, but she will be truly missed by us all.
“So, when tomorrow starts without me do not think we are apart. For every time you think of me remember I’m right here in your heart.”
