Esther Newcomb

Esther was born to Jesse Rivera Gonzales and Maria De Jesus Gonzales on July 11th, 1970 in Houston, Texas, the youngest of 7 children.

Esther is survived by her husband of 16 years, David Vernon Newcomb, children Chris Neil Dasilva, Jacob Aaron Dasilva, Allison Marie Dasilva, and Julia Anne Dasilva. Stepchildren Kristi Gail Endres (Talton),

David Vernon Newcomb Jr. (Megan), Kelsie Rose Williams (Joshua), Ryan Kyle Newcomb (Kaylon), and Savannah Augustine Johnson (Dylan), brothers and sisters Maria Elena Juarez, Ria Gonzales (Carlos), David Gonzales (Dora), Rachel Gonzales Valdivia (Joshua), and Richard Carl Gonzales (Veronica), Father in law Bill Newcomb, an army of nieces, nephews, cousins, and 12 grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents Maria De Jesus and Jesse Rivera Gonzales, her oldest brother John Henry Gonzales, and Mother in law Bobby Newcomb.

Esther worked as a Manager and then moved into a Director’s role in Account Services with the MidStream Energy Division at Kinder Morgan for 16 years to total 33 plus years in the oil and gas industry. Esther and David were active volunteers of the Houston General Go Texan Committee for the last 11 years. She loved spoiling her grandchildren as well as pets Kitty, Jazz, and Olive. She enjoyed karaoke at family gatherings, crocheting, playing golf, attending concerts at any venue, working puzzles, exercising, and most of all cherished being a mother and grandmother to her 12 grandchildren. Esther Newcomb was a strong woman of faith, the life of every party, and lived by the words of “what you do is what counts”. She will FOREVER be in our hearts, thoughts, and minds!!

A visitation for Esther will be held Saturday, May 10, 2025 from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home, with a funeral service at 5:00 PM.
