

FERN JEANETTE EARLES, 86, went to eternal home with God on January 30, 2011, in northwest Houston. She grew up on a farm in northwestern Minnesota. She was married to Gene Edward Earles on June 25, 1950 in Erdahl, Minnesota. They remained married for 46 years until Gene’s death in 1996.
During WWII, Fern worked in the war effort building B-24 bombers in St. Paul, Minnesota. After marrying Gene and moving to Houston, Fern worked at the UT Dental Branch for 38 years until retirement.
She and Gene were members of the Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in south Houston for over 40 years.
Fern was preceded in death by her parents, Henry J. Hanson and Nellie Shurson Hanson, her sisters Doris Olson, Marion Jacobsen, her brothers Raymond Hanson, James Hanson, her nephews Dallas Hanson, Jerry Hanson, Dylan Sawyer and numerous relatives and friends. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Ronald Gene and Cynthia Earles, grandchildren , Travis William Earles, Jason Edward Earles, Shannon Michelle Earles, all of Houston, sister Harriett Haatvedt of Jefferson and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday February 5, 2011 in the Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Chapel. Interment will follow in the Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery. Visitation will be at Lawndale Funeral Chapel from 5:00-8:00 P.M. Friday, February 4, 2011.
