August 12, 2020
Florinda Morales Padilla passed away quietly and peacefully a few minutes before midnight of Sunday, August 9th, 2020.
Born in Los Ebanos, in the municipio de Montemorales, Nuevo Leon, Mexico on a day 1 Xochitl (nahuatl for flower). Probably unaware of this, her father Santos Guadalupe Morales Valdez and Hilaria Padilla Guajardo named her Florinda – short for “flor linda” or wonderful flower. In any language or tradition, she truly was.
She leaves behind her younger sister, Prudencia and brother Isaias Totais to reunite with her other departed siblings, Isais (the first), Francisco, Martin, Victor, Jacinta, Aurora, Amalia, Guadalupe, Alicia and Santos.
Ernesto Escamilla Salazar, husband and companion of seven decades was at her side as she drew and released her final breaths of life.
An ever-loving, protective mother with drive and imagination, she left only being assured that the life she had engendered would be cared for. Her four children, Heriberto, Roy, Olga and Gloria are forever indebted with her charge. Her love touched and transformed grandchildren, Christina Alicia, Felipe Ernesto, Elena Laurel Escamilla Ramirez; Lydia Annette and Marcos Manuel Tápia Escamilla and Angélica Maria Reyes Escamilla, John, Raquel and Anthony Escamilla Pinzón.
We see the struggle to face and live life with faith and perseverance in her great-grandchildren, Liliana Isabel and Adrian Manuel Hermosillo Escamilla, Aiyana and Dahlia Espinoza, Havana Escamilla Vargas and Aviana Juliet Escamilla Joseph.
