

Frances lived a long and full life rooted in family, home, and togetherness. She especially loved baking with her grandchildren, sharing not just recipes but time, laughter, and memories that will be treasured for generations. She enjoyed visiting with everyone and was happiest when surrounded by family. Family dinners were central to her life, and she took great pride in cooking and hosting, always making sure everyone felt welcome and cared for.
Frances was a devoted caregiver throughout her life and lovingly raised her granddaughter, Barbie Lopez, who later moved her from Texas to Washington to care for her in her final years. Frances was also deeply comforted by the presence of her great-granddaughter, Josie Lopez, who spent meaningful time with her and helped care for her toward the end of her life. Their love and dedication reflected the strong family bonds Frances nurtured across generations.
Frances was preceded in death by her beloved husband, John Ruffino, and her daughter, Joyce Wilson.
Frances is survived by her daughter, Mary Carranza, and her son, John Ruffino Jr. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Dan Wilson, Kellie Wilson, Barbie Lopez, Christy Reyna, and Samantha Peña, as well as numerous great-grandchildren and extended family members.
A visitation will be held at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home, located at 6900 Lawndale Street, Houston, TX 77023, on February 8, 2026, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm. A prayer service will take place at the same location on February 8, 2026, from 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
The funeral service will be conducted at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home on February 9, 2026, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm. Following the funeral service, a committal service will be held at the same venue from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm.
