

Frank was born February 19, 1918 in Lawrenceburg, KY. Frank was raised in Magnolia Texas where he graduated from high school. He received his B.S. degree from the University of Houston in 1939 and his J.D. degree from the University of Texas School of Law in 1942. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II in the Airways and Air Communications Service and was discharged as a Captain. He was recalled to active duty during the Korean War and served in the Air Force Office of Special Investigation in Germany. He retired from the legal department of Tenneco Inc., after 33 years of service on March 1, 1983. He had been the company’s antitrust and patent lawyer. He was also commissioned a Kentucky Colonel by the Governor of Kentucky.
Frank married Belle Elizabeth Morrow February 26, 1941 and had 2 children, Robert Frank McWhorter of Magnolia, TX and Marian McWhorter Wiley of Austin, TX. He is also survived by 2 grandchildren, Jason McWhorter of Austin, TX, and Christina Wiley of Austin, TX. He has a great grandchild, Beck McWhorter, of Austin Springs, TX along with many nieces and nephews. Frank was preceded in death by his brother Thomas Osborne McWhorter on March 1, 1978.
Frank and Elizabeth were married 50 wonderful years. After Elizabeth’s death in 1991, he married Doris McCleskey in 1992, they moved to Carrollton, TX near Dallas, and enjoyed 15 years of marriage. Frank loved traveling to Europe, especially Scotland. He was a member of Memorial Drive Presbyterian Church in Houston and Preston Hollow Presbyterian Church of Dallas.
The family will receive friends at a visitation from 6:00pm until 8:00pm Thursday, March 31st at Waltrip Funeral Directors.
On Friday April 1st, a graveside service at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery will begin at 12 noon, followed by a memorial service at 2:00pm in the chapel of Memorial Drive Presbyterian Church, 11612 Memorial Drive where, afterward, the family will greet guests at a reception.
