Geneva Irene Horton Bailey

Geneva Bailey of Houston, TX, was born October 26, 1919 in Lockhart, TX to John and Adrienne Horton. She went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Monday, November 10, 2014 at the age of 95.

Geneva graduated from Reagan High School. She married her beloved husband, Donald D. Bailey, on November 3, 1937. Geneva was preceded in death by her parents, John and Adrienne Horton, her husband, Donald Bailey, her son Carl Bailey, her daughter, Donna Lewis, her son, Larry Bailey, her beloved sister Mildred and nine brothers. She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Shirley Bailey, son-in law Weldon Lewis, her grandchildren, Don Lewis and wife, Theresa, David Lewis and wife, Susan, Michelle Edmonds and husband, Tracey, and Michael Bailey, great-grandchildren, Matt and wife Megan, Jake, Danny, Christopher and Courtney Lewis, Tyler and Morgan Edmonds and great-great grandchildren, Emily and Olivia Lewis.

Family and friends gathered in the chapel Waltrip Funeral Directors, 1415 Campbell Road in Houston on Sunday, November 16 at 1:00 p.m., to share memories and reminisce about this wonderful woman. At 2:00 p.m., a funeral service was led by Reverend Dr. Duane Brooks and Reverend Dr. Larry Bertrand. Graveside services and interment began at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, November 17 at Woodlawn Garden of Memories, 1101 Antoine, also in Houston.
