George Henry McMillan Jr.

George Henry McMillan, Jr. was born February 11, 1922 to his loving parents, George and Ruby McMillan in Huffsmith, Texas. Our beloved husband, father, brother, and friend went to join his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, December 4, 2012. George graduated from Iola High School in 1939 and went on to serve his country in the U.S. Navy during WWII. During his assignment in California, he met and married the love of his life, Norma Rose Green. They reared 5 children during their 60 years of life together until Norma went to the Lord in 2003.

After the war, they moved to Philadelphia, PA, where they lived until moving back to Houston, TX in 1960. George owned an ornamental iron business and a partnership in Cloud Real Estate. Retiring in 2002, George and Norma found living on Lake Conroe a wonderful experience. They shared their life with many friends and family as they enjoyed fishing, boating, and entertaining at their lakeside home.

George was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and brothers, Bobby, Joe, and Dan McMillan. He is survived by his sister, Mary and her husband Gordan Bussey; daughter, Jane Johndrow; sons, David, Robert, George, and Jerrold McMillan and wives, Carol, Joyce, Allison, and Cindy, respectively. He leaves behind 10 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

The family wishes to thank the caregivers at Autumn Leaves of Cypresswood and Hospice nurses for their loving care and understanding.

Visitation will be from 12:00 till 1:00 p.m. Friday, December 7, 2012 in the Chapel of Heights Funeral Home, where the funeral service will begin at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Garden of Memories, Houston, TX.
