Gerald James Galik

Gerald J. Galik, age 77, born June 21, 1944 in Houston, Texas was called to his heavenly home on November 9, 2021. He was a beloved husband, father, son, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend.

Gerald is preceded in death by his mother Wilma Mae Galik, his father Frank Galik & step-mother Christine; brothers Harvey & Lawrence, sisters Jeannie & Betty.

Gerald is survived by his loving wife of over 56 years Nora Galik, three children Anthony Galik (wife Teri), Angela Garza (husband Mark), & Rodney Galik (wife Yvette); five grandchildren Daniel Galik (wife Suzie), Nigel Garza, Nicolas Garza, Joseph Galik & Sidney Galik and two great-grandchildren Nathen & Noah Galik. His siblings: Hazel Dutka, Shirley Galik & Clifton Galik.

Gerald was a father figure, a mentor & a teacher for many over the years in addition to his own children. He enjoyed spending time with family hunting at the deer lease & fishing at the lake, especially with his grandsons.

Gerald loved cooking, but especially enjoyed teaching & telling others how to cook. His grandsons are going to miss being able to call him to pick his brain on how to make certain dishes.

Gerald will be dearly missed by all who knew & loved him. And there will be many that will miss their daily phones calls, trading of stories, and his quick-witted humor.

Visitation will be Wednesday, November 17 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Earthman Resthaven. Rosary beginning at 6:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be held Thursday, November 18, at 2:00 p.m. at Earthman Resthaven in the Chapel. Earthman Resthaven is located 13102 North Freeway, Houston,TX 77060.

In lieu of flowers, the family would like you to make a donation to “St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital” or a charity of your choosing.

Serving as pallbearers will be his grandsons, Daniel Galik, Nigel Garza, Nicolas Garza, Joseph Galik, Sidney Galik, and his godson, Brandon Schubrick. Honorary pallbearer is his Goddaughter, Teresa Schubrick; Godson, Larry Galik.
