“I sit here in shock and total disbelief. I wish to send my most heartfelt and deepest condolences to Gerard‘s family. I am so sorry for your loss. My name is Darren Collins from Little Rock, Arkansas and I had the HONOR of working for this beautiful spirited Brother along with his beloved Brother at Region 4. The most kind and supportive boss that I ever had. He was my favorite. I was sitting here on this evening and had the overwhelming feeling to search for him and to reach out and say hello. To my surprise, I came across this obituary.. my heart just sank. Speechless. Deeply saddened. In my heart I take comfort in knowing that I got to tell him how much he meant to me some years back and I thanked him for everything that he did for me. Impacted my life in ways that he will never know. I always kept this photo no matter where I moved to. Thank you Gerard. May God bless your amazing Soul, may God comfort and bless your Family and everyone that you loved my Brother. Gerard you will be missed.

It was an honor to know Gerard. When I think of him, I think about our summer conferences. Every year, we had hundreds of boxes we needed to have shipped, stored, and strapped for our conference. Gerard was always gracious, accommodating, and willing to do whatever was needed to help us get materials into the hands of our teachers. His dedication and hard work will be missed by everyone who knew him.  

Thank you, Gerard, for being so dedicated to what you did.  You made an impact on all of us.  May you rest in peace.

Gerry will be missed. He was always so patient, accommodating, & helpful whatever the situation or need. We loved him at Region 4.

Gerard was such an important member of the Region 4 Education Service Center team. He exemplified Excellence in Service for Children. He will be truly missed. Sincere condolences to James and the rest of the family.

My thoughts and prayers are with Gerry's family and friends. My grateful appreciation for the opportunity to work with this amazing man who exemplified Region 4 Education Service Center's vision for excellence in service for children. In 2004, when I first started at Region 4, Gerry was one of the first to help me make sure I had all the resources ready to go and delivered to meet the needs of our schools. He has kept on helping me through all these years with the same commitment, patience, and kindness. I will also miss seeing him in his cowboy hat and being able to share  Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo stories with him! With my sympathy and condolences.

James and Gene I am speechless. For 34 years Jerry was My Boss, My Leader, My Supervisor and My FRIEND. He will TRULY be miss. May he Rest in Peace. ♥♥♥  Love you always Jerry,

I worked with Gerry at Region 4 for 15 years. He was always kind and caring. His dedication to his family and his  job and making sure everything was right is a testament to his impeccable character.  He truly left his mark on all who knew him. He will be missed by many. Prayers to James and Gene and to his many friends.

Gerard and I went to school together from 7th through 12th grade. I recall him as a really good guy who was easy going and had a ready smile.  When I saw the photo of him in this notice, his smile catapulted me back in time! Condolences to all his family and friends.
