Gertrude H. Beisert

Gertrude H. Beisert passed into the arms of her Lord and Savior on March 10, 2026, in Houston, at the age of 96, after a brief illness. She was born on January 28, 1930 in Warda, Texas, to Emil T. and Anna Pauline Schubert.

Gertrude left school when she was a young girl to help her parents on the farm and worked hard all her life, but she never gave up her quest for knowledge and achieved her GED when she was in her 60’s. She learned the use of a computer in her 70’s which she continued until her recent illness. She enjoyed playing Sudoku and working crossword puzzles.

Gertrude was a faithful long time member of St. Mark Lutheran Church, singing in the choir in her earlier years. She was a devoted wife and mother.

She married Rudy Beisert on August 5, 1989, and the two of them enjoyed many happy times at the Mitschke family farm near Northrup, Texas, fishing and visiting with family and friends.

Gertrude is preceded in death by her first husband, Arnold N. Mitschke, Sr., her parents, Emil T. and Anna Pauline Schubert, and her brother, Wilbert Schubert.

She is survived by her husband, Rudy Beisert of Houston; three sons, Arnold, Jr. of Giddings, Gary and wife Mary of Marfa, and Chris of Houston; one daughter, Carolyn Turner and husband John of Arkansas; grandson Kevin Watkins and wife Shelia of Arkansas; great-grandson Harvey Watkins; nephew Dwayne Schubert of Houston; step-sons Stanley Beisert, Steven Beisert, Russell Beisert and Patrick Beisert; along with many friends and extended family members.
