She was raised by her maternal grandparents and aunts with lots of love and harmony. Gloria and her sister Fredesvinda enrolled in elementary school and both made good grades and family was proud.
As time passed and she graduated from school, Gloria started working in the cotton industry and agriculture industry as Secretary for upper management. One day she went to a gathering and she met Jose Garza. They dated for about 2-1/2 years and married in July 1958. José and Gloria move to the United States in the early 1960’s. She had four children, Jose Jr., Gloria Yolanda, Jorge(deceased) and Elizabeth. All of her children born in Mexico and became US citizens. Gloria has one sister in Mexico and numerous nephews, nieces. Gloria has one daughter-In Law Corina, nine grandchildren and spouses, twenty two great grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter.
She loved being a homemaker, cooking, sewing, knitting and loved working with her plants. When she lived in Danbury, Texas from August 2008 till September 2023, she enjoyed the country living. She spoke to us all in a soft tone. She was always presentable and would not leave house unless she was dressed up, had her hair done and makeup. She was very understanding, compassionate, respected everyone’s beliefs and opinions. She was a very classy lady and loved so much all her family and friends.
For everyone who helped her during this difficult period in her life she would say “Thank You” & “I love you”. She appreciated all the love given to her. A few of her last words she said was she is going to be okay. Please keep her memory in your hearts and remember Gloria V. Garza forever!
With our heavy hearts we say goodbye & we love you!
