Mrs. Gloria (Brantley) Seastrunk

In her earlier years, Gloria attended Burrus Elementary School, Hamilton Middle School, and Booker T. Washington High School. She earned her college degree from Houston Christian University (formerly Houston Baptist University) where she graduated as a Registered Nurse.

Gloria had her first son, Timothy Martin Sr., with Donald Ray Allen Sr. and second son, Roderick Martin (deceased), with her husband, David Seastrunk (who also resides in death with her).

She was a lifelong member of the Church of the Living God (Temple #305), currently under the leadership of Pastor James Odoms. Served in the roll of Missionary and various committees.

She worked many years for Columbia North Houston Medical Center (formerly Parkway Hospital) where she started her tenure as a Patient Care Technician, later being promoted to Unit Secretary, ultimately finishing nursing school to become a Registered Nurse (RN). Later in her RN career, she was promoted to unit charge nurse and then hospital charge nurse. She left Parkway Hospital and continued her RN career at Triumph Hospital, where she worked until she retired.

She was preceded in death by her husband David Seastrunk, mother Mable Cunningham, Father Leroy Martin Sr., Son Roderick Martin; 2 sisters Thelma Jean Edwards and Rosie Jackson, 2 brothers Billy Ray Brantley and Alex Wayne Martin.

Gloria leaves behind to cherish memories her son Timothy Martin Sr. (Eugenica), and Daughter-in-Law Sherice Martin (Roderick, deceased). 1 sister Brenda Leassears. 3 Brothers, Leroy Martin Jr., Robert Louis Martin, and Jeffery Martin (aka Uncle “George”). 11 Grandchildren, Lakeshia Nnamani (Daniel), Timothy Martin Jr., Domonique Martin, Roderick Martin Jr., Gabriel Sterling, Tyler C Martin, Kamryn Dumas, Ladianian Moore, Timiah Martin, Eugenesis Martin, and Octavia Martin. 1 Great Grandchild, Dior Nnamani.
