Guadalupe Elizondo

With heavy hearts and deep love, we share the passing of our beloved father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, Guadalupe Elizondo, who entered eternal rest at the age of 90.

Guadalupe was a man of quiet strength, compassion, and unwavering faith. For 42 years, he was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Evangelina, whose passing at the age of 61 left a lasting void in his heart. In the years that followed, he often reflected on the life they shared with deep love and sorrow. Over time, his longing turned inward, and he found peace, but in his growing relationship with God—praying often for rest and release, seeking comfort in eternal peace.

Guadalupe never remarried, remaining faithful to the love he had for Evangelina and to the life they built together. After her passing, his daughter Lydia lovingly stepped into the caretaker role her mother had once held—managing the responsibilities of daily life and offering him unwavering support and companionship in his later years.

He was the proud father of five children—three sons and two daughters—13 grandchildren, and 9 great-grandchildren. Guadalupe found joy in the simple things: watching his favorite baseball team, the Houston Astros and who can forget seeing him watch boxing matches with eyes wide open, not wanting to blink for he may miss a punch, jab or uppercut and also for the skill and discipline it required.

To those who knew him, Guadalupe was the definition of selflessness, patience, and kindness. He was deeply principled, humble in spirit, and strong in his beliefs. Though he was never one to seek the spotlight, his presence anchored his family, and his quiet wisdom and unwavering love shaped their lives in countless ways.

We find comfort in knowing that Guadalupe now rests in the eternal peace he so often prayed for, embraced by the God who guided him through life’s hardest seasons. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know and love him.

He will be profoundly missed and lovingly remembered.
