Irene Diane Arellano Galvan, a.k.a. Grammy, Mama, and Irenie was born on June 9, 1952, and died on January 31, 2025, at the age of 72. She was born in Houston, Texas to August and Lupe Arellano who preceded her in death. She lived in Lindale Park for more than 45 years in a home she absolutely loved. She was a dedicated and valued employee in supply chain management for Service Corporation International for over 20 years and Bank of the Soutwest for over 30 years in the same line of business. She is survived by her son Eric Galvan and Michele Galvan. She is survived by her grandson Dylan Garay, and son in laws Robert Sorenson, Jose Garay, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Irene enjoyed spending her time with her family. especially attending Dylan her grandson's swimming lessons on the weekends and going out for brunch, lunch, or dinner. She enjoyed the annual trips to Galveston Island with her family where she would relax by the pool and take in some sunshine. She also would bring Molly her poodle to the beach house to enjoy the weather where Molly would join her in the pool. She was an Astros fan through and through, watching or recording the games only if the Astros won! She supported the Astros through her Astros bling, hats, coozies, and earrings.
Irene was incredibly loving and supportive of everything in her family's life. She prioritized her family showing her love through her willingness to anything to ensure our happiness. Her love and support shaped who we are today. She was the kind of mom who would do anything for her family, no matter the sacrifice. We are fortunate to have had mother so nurturing in our corner. You will be missed dearly Mom. Rest in Peace.
