

Jack Carter Lewis was born on March 6, 1921 in Dallas, Texas, though he lived most of his life in Houston, Texas. He served as a fighter pilot in the U. S. Navy during World War II, achieving the rank of Lieutenant.
Upon his return from the service, he began a banking career with Bank of the Southwest, known as M Bank at the time of his retirement in 1983. He began the first bank card program in Houston and was head of executive loans.
Jack married Billie Jean Black DeWoody on December 2, 1949 in Houston, Texas. He traveled around the world with his wife. He loved to play golf and billiards, and he enjoyed the mountains of Colorado. He was a loyal husband, father, and friend.
Jack Lewis was pre-deceased by his parents, Benjamin W. Lewis and Minnie Jane Carter, his brother, Benjamin W. Lewis, and his wife, Billie Jean Black Lewis. Jack Lewis is survived by:
Son, Gary Lewis (Debra), and grandchildren Rebecca Jochen, and Joel Lewis (Addie), and great-grandchildren, Kyle Jochen, Erin Jochen, Belen Lewis, and Ariana Lewis;
Son, Larry Lewis (Kendell), and grandchildren Selena Sunderland (Shaun), Jacquelyn Rawson (Christopher), Daniel Lewis (Kara), and Benjamin Lewis (Maggie), and great-grandchildren Elise Sunderland, Alec Sunderland, Talon Sunderland, Audrey Sunderland, Eliana Rawson, Malachi Rawson, Chris Rawson, Ella Rawson;
Daughter, Deborah Lewis;
Step Son, Stephen DeWoody (Harriet Jean), and grandson Matthew (Jenni), and step-great-grandchildren Jessica DeWoody and Amanda DeWoody;
Step Daughter, Lynn DeWoody.
