Dr. Butler was born on December 24, 1933 to Thomas and Dorothea (Dunn) Butler in Messina, NY. He graduated from St. Lawrence University in Canton, NY and McGill University Medical School in Montreal.
Dr. Butler was a Captain with the U.S. Army as a Surgeon stationed in Japan. He was an Emergency Room physician for over 35 years, a member of Chapelwood United Methodist Church and a member of the Retired Physicians Association.
Dr. Butler is preceded in death by his parents and only sister, Nancy Butler.
A Memorial Service will be held in the chapel at Chapelwood United Methodist Church, 11140 Greenbay, on Friday, June 3, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. At a later date, interment will be at Pine Hill Cemetery in Ogdensburg NY.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or the Houston SPCA.
