James Joel Chabolla

On May 18th, 2016 James Joel "Jaime" Chabolla went home to be united with his Savior, beloved grandparents Emma Harper, Rebecca Castillo and Frank Castillo as well as his brother Jesse Chabolla and his uncle Richard James Chabolla.

James was born in Houston, Texas on July 13th 1971 to Gloria Chabolla and Johnny Chabolla. He attended Holy Name School, St. Anne's School, Saint Thomas High School in Houston, Texas and his Bachelor of Business Administration with a major in Management from Southwest Texas State University in San Marcos, Tx., member of Tau Kappa Epsilon. James also received an Associate of Occupational Studies Degree from Universal Technical Institute in Automotive and Truck Technology.

James participated in many competitive sports and musical endeavors including basketball, football, and clarinet band member at Saint Anne's School. Additionally, he served as alter boy at St. Anne's Church. While studying at Saint Thomas High School, he was on the Lacrosse and Cross Country teams. James was very gifted in martial arts achieving first place in a state competion.

Memories that will be unanimously shared are James's huge smile, humor and quick wit. Many experienced his generous spirit, including family, friends, neighbors and strangers. He was quick to leave a tip larger than necessary and rarely passed a person in need always stating that he was blessed with people in his life who loved him and did not need much else. James was a very avid sports fan enjoying the Astros and Texans games as well as boxing and martial arts competitions. James had a verocious appetite for life. He enjoyed various local art, dance and musical performances. Speaking of appetite, James will be especially remembered for his love of food and a good meal with friends and family.

James leaves a treasure trove of memories to be shared by his loving mother Gloria Chabolla, father Johnny Chabolla, stepmother Anita Balderas and grandfather Rufus Chabolla, sister Jessica Vasquez (Raymond), aunt Rose Linda Chabolla Bean, uncles Frank Castillo Jr., and Roger Chabolla, cousins, nieces, nephews and God Son Joseph Daniel Andrews as well as many friends. We will be forever changed having known him.
