I am so saddened to hear of Jamie's passing. Since moving away from Texas in 2004, I lost touch with her, and was unaware that she had been ill. 

Jamie and I were friends for a short season. Even so, today almost 20 years later she is still one of the topics of "back in the day..." stories that always brings a smile.

Jamie came to meet Ayden for the first time along side of bringing me flowers after my breast cancer surgery. It was such a happy day for all of us. 💕😘🤗

As I sit here in my car waiting for my cousin Jamie’s funeral, I am recollecting when Jamie and I were kids until getting to see her again as an adult. The one main quality that always stands out past the rest would have to be Jamie always being real. She has always been kind hearted and sentimental. Qualities that we shared which always made me feel even closer to her than ever. I always told her that she was an inspiration, in which she would tell me she didn’t think so. Also, no matter how bad she was feeling she was always worried about someone else. Her smile and laughter was so uplifting. I am so incredibly blessed to have such a loving and never changing cousin such as her. I am also very grateful to have gotten to hangout with her at least twice in the past year. I wish that it could have been more, but due to distance it was hard. Reminiscing on the past and catching each other up on the present I am very thankful for. When I feel like that I wish God could have allowed us more time to spend together and I am brought back to reality of that is me just being selfish. I am happy she is no longer in pain and she is flying high in the sky as the Angel I saw her to be. I love you so much cousin and miss your tremendously. With a heavy heart I say goodbye to you until we see each other again. Much love always! Rest in paradise my sweet cousin. ❤️💝😘😇

As I sit and reflect on my memories of Jamie, her bright spirit makes me smile. I didn't have the privilege of spending time with her in these last few years, but even with that distance, I never cook nachos without thinking of her. Or listen to A Milli by Lil Wayne. Or see an Ankh. Or eat at The Spot or walk down The Stand. Or listen/watch True Crime. Jamie left her mark in so many aspects of my life, she saw a strength in me during a time I did not feel strong. Jamie encouraged me and she helped me grow and learn at a pivotal time in my life and for that and so many other things, I will always be grateful and I will always cherish every one of those memories with her. 

The moment you walked in, I knew you would be my friend. You had such an amazing spirit and your hugs were always so comforting. My heart is so heavy. I am going to miss your sweet smile and caring heart. You were so special to my heart, sweet girl. May you Rest In Peace . Sending hugs to Momma Janet

It’s so hard to find and have a real friend in this life or any life but I am grateful enough to have had Jamie as one of those friends throughout the years. She had the kindest of  hearts and was the easiest in the world to share things with. She’s helped me find peace just by listening and sometimes by just telling me exactly what a friend would need to hear. I will always remember making her smile but more importantly the uniqueness of her laugh. Janet thank you for having such a beautiful soul of a daughter. Her smile was priceless and she loved her sunglasses. She was so sweet and willing to do anything to help anyone. She offered to wash my car one day bc I was complaining about being so busy and she wouldn’t let me pay her. She said “you can just give me your used Versace sunglasses lol”… I just love her heart.
