Jean was born August 10th, 1925 to Blanche Viola Walters and Clearance Oliver
Walters Sr. After graduating from high school she joined the USO. She loved to dance
and just happened to meet a handsome sailor named Dale Glenn Heiberg. Soon after

Mary Francis. When Jean became pregnant the 4th time she decided to write a letter to
the office of the Navy to request that Dale please be honorably discharged because of
the hardship at home. Jean must have had a way with words because amazingly they
granted her wish and Dale was able to come home for the birth of his last child, Holly
Dale Heiberg.
Later in life Dale and Jean still loved to dance and go to parties with their friends but
they really enjoyed fishing. They built a house in Port Bolivar themselves but sometimes
with the help of their children. Dale even recruited his children’s friends with the
promise of beach time or fishing in the canal.
