Jimmie Hilton

Mrs. Jimmie M. Hilton passed away on January 17, 2016, at Brookdale South, 1401 Wonder World Drive, in San Marcos, TX. Mrs. Hilton was 88 years old. She was born October 10, 1927 in Port Neches, TX and was a proud lady of Texas her entire life.

Mrs. Hilton is survived by three children: Carl Hunt of Woodland Park, CO, Catherine Dowling, of San Marcos, and Charles Hunt of Arnold, MD, as well as three grandchildren, Joshua Hunt of Denver, CO and Peyton and William Hunt, both of Arnold, MD. Jimmie was married to Woodrow M. Hunt of Center, Texas for over 45 years until his passing in 1995, and to Mr. Glen Hilton of Gladewater, TX for ten years until his passing in 2005. Additionally she is survived by her brother Kenneth Marshall and Pauline Marshall, both of Houston Texas.

Jimmie was devoted to her family and the community of San Marcos, having moved there in retirement from Houston, via Warren, TX, over 22 years ago. She served many years as a volunteer at the Central Texas Medical Center, the AARP/VITA San Marcos Library Senior Tax Program, and worked as a polling officer in Hays County elections. One of her greatest passions was cooking and serving magnificent Texas family meals for all occasions; something her children always relished. She was a devoted mother, compassionate Christian, and a good friend to many in the San Marcos community. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in San Marcos for over 20 years.

Visitation will be at Forest Park Cemetery, 6900 Lawndale Ave, in Houston TX on Wednesday, 20 Jan 2016, from 5:00 – 9:00 PM. Mrs. Hilton will be buried in the family plot next to Woodrow Hunt at Forest Park Cemetery on Thursday, 21 Jan 2016, at 10:00 AM.
