Joe Bill Newman

Joe Bill Newman , 72, passed away Thursday, February 16, 2012. He was a soldier of Christ, a Navy veteran, and "Pops" to all. He was a Registered Environmental Manager where he spearheaded the development of training curriculum for safety and health policies implemented within the chemical industry. Achieving less hazardous exposure to the workforce and the environment. His legacy continues to save lives. Preceded in death by: his first wife, Joan Newman; sister, Annharad "Sissy-Bo"; and parents, Elbert and Pauline Newman. Survived by: Wife, Charlene Newman; Children, Larry Newman and wife Ling; Tim Newman; Jorja Holley and partner Phyllis Stedman; Rachel Hyatt and husband Randall; Truman Lyles; Laura Nixon and husband Darrin; and Jon-Michael Taylor and wife Debbie. Grandchildren: Phaedra Goodwin; Roman Goodwin; Gabrielle Newman; Parker Nixon; Truman Lyles; Lea Lyles; Riley Taylor; Nyah Taylor; Brandon Taylor; Aiden Taylor; Kenzie Sondrol-Hyatt; and grandpet, Petunia. Also by numerous nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends. Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 21, 2012, Earthman Resthaven Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be held 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, February 22, 2012, Earthman Resthaven Chapel. Interment to follow at Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veteran’s Memorial Drive.
