Joe Thomasson Jr.

Joe Thomasson, Jr., 87, of Tomball, TX, passed away August 24, 2014. He was born June 4, 1927 to Joe B. Thomasson, Sr. and Maggie Ola Fondren Thomasson of Houston, TX. Joe was a career Navy man with 30 years of service to his country reaching the rank of Senior Chief. He loved the Navy and the men he served with in his long career. He was a Deep Sea Diver for the Navy and an underwater welder both in and out of the water. He started his second career at Brown and root and continued to work in construction until he retired. His greatest joy was his family; he loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents and 4 of his siblings. Joe is survived by his son, Joe Dale Thomasson, daughter, Tina Shalk; step-children, Suzette Fruge, Brenda Fruge, David Fruge; and grandchildren, Thomas Fisher and Kimberly Fischer; and son Michael Arthur Thomasson, wife Michelle, grandchildren Allison Thomasson and Stephanie Thomasson. He is also survived by his sister, Mary Ola Fordyce and husband Rex, sister, Shirley Frey and husband Jack; brother, Don Thomasson and wife Cathy; sister, Mrs. Patricia Powers; brother, Timothy Dale Thomasson; sister-in-law Mrs. Dan (Frances) Thomasson and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Wednesday at Earthman Resthaven Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:30 pm on Thursday, August 28, 2014 at the Chapel of the funeral home. Interment will follow at Earthman Resthaven Cemetery.
