

John Ed Fletcher was born November 7, 1935, in Maynard, Texas, to his mother, Carrie Fletcher. John, affectionately called “Johnnie,” was raised by his loving grandmother Annie Williams. Later in life he met and married Mary Sanders Fletcher and from this union 2 children were born, Pamela and Michael. John would soon gain 2 extended children, Shelia Nelson-Meredith and Doran Goston John was a devoted student and graduate of The Charles Harrison Mason Bible College. After college, he began his ministry at Williams Temple Church of God in Christ (C.O.G.I.C.) under the leadership of Bishop R.E. Woodard Sr. and he also ministered at Emmanuel Church of God in Christ. He retired from General Electric after a 35-year long career. John had a solid prayer life and a keen sense of humor. Upon his retirement, he enjoyed watching Bonanza and Sanford & Son. He also loved to cook and read his bible. John passed away peacefully with his family by his side. He is preceded in death and will be welcomed to his heavenly home by his grandmother Annie Williams, mother Carrie Fletcher, siblings Dorothy Fletcher, Aggie Mae Ross, Joe Ross, and twin sister Darnell Lockins He leaves to mourn a sister Annie Mae Ross, his kids Pamela Fletcher-Toppen, Michael Fletcher (Rae-Shell), and extended kids Sheila Nelson-Meredith and Doran Goston. Grand Children - SSgt. Edward Toppen (Lorraine), Edwin Toppen, Edana Toppen, Emmanuel Fletcher, Khari Fletcher, Jersey Robinson, Khorie Jenkins, Elijah Goston, Mkenzy Jenkins, and Victor Fletcher. Great Grand Children - Christalin Toppen, Christian Toppen, David Toppen, Kayson Jordan, a host of nieces and nephews, and extended brothers and sisters MT Sanders, Marvell Sanders, LaNell Murphy, Elsie Davis, Evelyn (Joyce) Arterberry, and Larry Sanders, Pearly Mae Battle(deceased).
