

John's passion for chemistry led to his inventions in environmental pollution detection, and also in petroleum analytical spectrophotometry. He founded Hanby International, based upon these revolutionary developments, which has led to a new spectroanalysis instrument unique to the petroleum industry. His company will now be led by his grandson, Charles D. Fator.
John was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Barbara Bonnefin Hanby. He is survived by his brother, Dr. Daniel Hanby and his wife Betty; sisters, Anne Hanby Siren and Mary Hanby Glassman. Also surviving is his son, Christopher Bonnefin; daughter, Celeste Eberspacher and her husband Jeff; grandsons, Charles D. Fator and his wife Tamara, Jason Siefert and his wife Dawn, Cory Bonnefin and all their respective families; nephews, Eddie Siren, Christopher Siren and Dr. Duncan Hanby; nieces, Cathy Siren, Beth Cunningham, Marta Farb, Molly Herrington, Zoe Miles and Kate Bennett and their families; many dear friends and business associates.
Family and friends gathered for a memorial service to celebrate this wonderful man's life at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, the 20th of April, 2015, in the sanctuary of BridgePoint Bible Church, 13277 Katy Freeway in Houston.
