I know it has been years since you passed Daddy but I miss you so much! I still have the necklace you gave me as the last Christmas present from you that you wrapped up with a can of spinach. I love you Daddy and miss you so very much!

I worked with John at Bear Creek Scout Camp and he was a real leader and mentor and really helped me a great deal

I just now learned of John's passing in the Aggie Class of '78 newsletter and was surprised to see him listed in the Silver Taps list.  I had the pleasure of knowing John my senior year at Tivy and then at A&M.  Saw him at our 10 year high school reunion, but our paths never crossed after that.  John was a bright, loyal friend and I am sorry to hear he is gone.  My belated sympathies to his family.

I remember well how John exemplified all that was best in scouting.  In his key role as an Eagle Scout in Kerrville's BSA Troop 184, you could count on John to lead his fellow scouts with enthusiasm and a true sense of joy.  He always made sure that the younger, newer scouts (of which I was one) felt included and part of the family.  No matter what the activity or event, John put others' learning and success above himself, which made him such a memorable leader and friend to all.  The Scout Law cites:  "A scout is trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly, courteous, kind, obedient, cheerful, thrifty, brave, clean, and reverent."  John Koska certainly held all of those qualities.

I was just reflecting on the Tivy High School class of 1974, wondering what our 40 year class reunion would be like. I somehow have my classmates frozen in time, the way we were before we were launched from high school.  I remember John the way my classmates have described him; funny, honorable, sincere and committed to all things 100%.  I have to add that in the 70's young men had a chance to grow their hair over the collar and I remember best John's naturally blond hair, and lots of it!  So young, so happy, so loved.  My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

Sorry to hear of his passing.  I went to school with John and he was always fun to be around.  My prayers are with you.

We were so sad to learn of John's passing.  We grew up with John in Kerrville - he was such a kind, intelligent person and we are grateful to have known him.  Our prayers are with all of his family.

It has been many years but I remember John as a great scout back in his early days in Kerrville.  My brother and he were friends and scouts in the same Troop.  He exemplified the Eagle Scout he became.  Prayers for the family.  May he rest in God's hands.  Valerie Franklin Seely

We only had the pleasure of knowing him for a short time, but we knew a good man, a funny and compassionate man and a great and loving father and grandfather.  He will be missed very much.
