Jose Manuel Martinez

José Manuel Martinez, born on December 21, 1935, passed away peacefully surrounded by family and loved ones. A devoted brother, uncle, and friend, José lived a life marked by dedication, kindness, and quiet strength.

For many years, José served his community as a postal worker, a role he carried out with pride and unwavering commitment. His reliability, warm smile, and friendly conversations left a lasting impression on coworkers and residents alike. After retiring, José enjoyed a well-earned life of rest, reflection, and time with the family he cherished deeply.

José is survived by his nephew Richard Lantt Lord Smith; his niece Norma Smith and her daughters Monique Jose(Jolly Jose), Denise Clanton(Brad Clanton), and Jennifer Leroy; and his nephew Miguel Angel Smith and wife Alma Smith along with their children Stephanie Brown (Matthew Brown), and Michael Smith. He also leaves his great grand nieces and nephews. Joshua Jose, Juliana Jose, Madison Clanton, Blake Clanton, Avery Smith and Austin Smith.

He loved each of them dearly, taking joy in their accomplishments and offering support, wisdom, and affection throughout their lives.

José will be remembered for his generous heart and his gentle spirit. His presence will be deeply missed, but his memory will continue to live on in the stories, traditions, and love he shared.

A visitation will be held at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home, located at 6900 Lawndale Street, Houston, TX 77023, on December 8, 2025, from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm.

The funeral service will take place at the same venue on December 9, 2025, from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm, followed by a committal service from 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm.
