Josefa Hernandez

Josefa “Josie” Hernandez, 71, of Spring, Texas, died peacefully with her family at her side on December 28, 2023. Josefa fought a long and hard battle with cancer. The Hernandez family is grateful for the support of so many family and friends who visited and brought food and comfort during Josie’s illness. The family is especially thankful for the love and support of her niece Ronnie Villarreal Hackradt, her sisters Janie Aguirre and Anastacia Villareal.

Josie was born on June 29 1952 to Telesforo and Anastacia Pacheco in Houston, Texas. She graduated in 1970 from Jefferson Davis High School in Houston. It was also in high school where she met her sweetheart and love of her life Gary Hernandez. They had their first date at Josie's senior prom. Josie married Gary on May 27, 1973 in Houston, Texas and she worked as a secretary for a few years until staying home to focus on raising her 2 children, Gary Jr. and Tiziano. She was an avid mother figure to all her family and friends. She enjoyed road trips, shopping for clothes and being a mother to her sons and grandkids. She gladly served as a loving and caring maternal figure to all that knew her and crossed her path.

Josie is survived by her husband Gary Hernandez, her sisters Anastacia Villarreal and Janie Aguirre, her sons Gary Jr. and Tiziano, and her grandchildren Andres, Ethan, Sebastian, Grayson, Paxton, Payton,Tristan, Terrance and Chloe Belle.

A visitation for Josefa will be held Tuesday, January 9, 2024 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Earthman Resthaven, 13102 North Fwy, Houston, TX 77060. A funeral service will occur Tuesday, January 9, 2024 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM, 13102 North Fwy, Houston, TX 77060. A committal service will occur Tuesday, January 9, 2024 from 3:00 PM to 3:30 PM, 13102 North Fwy, Houston, TX 77060. A reception will occur Tuesday, January 9, 2024 from 3:30 PM to 5:00 PM, 13102 North Fwy, Houston, TX 77060.
