Some of our greatest memories were built at her home on Canal a place that held the heart of the entire family. Before it became the gathering place for grandchildren, it was the home where she raised her six children: Mary, Margaret, Jesse, David, Veronica, and Danny. Raising so many children meant constant chaos, endless laughter, and plenty of mischief, all of which kept her on her toes and probably added a few gray hairs along the way. She worried, she scolded, and yes if a kid stepped out of line, she made sure they remembered the rules.
Her house in Mexico was another place we all loved deeply a second home filled with cousins playing together, big meals, loud conversations, and the kind of memories that stay with us forever.
The grandchildren, spent their childhood running between the shop and the house, hanging around the brownie in the back, and wandering the neighborhood like it belonged to them. Canal wasn’t just an address; it was adventure, comfort, and family all wrapped into one.
She may have been tough when she needed to be, but she absolutely adored her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Her love for them was steady, fierce, and unconditional, and it shaped who they are today.
