

Joseph Roy Phillips, III was born in Houston, Texas on July 24, 1993 to Joseph Jr. and Terry Phillips. He attended Ben Milam Elementary, Aldine Senior High School and Houston Community College. He worked for FedEx while attending HCC and studying physical therapy. Joseph accepted Christ as his personal savior and was baptized under the leadership of Rev. Mark C. Davis at St. Luke Missionary Baptist Church. He later joined New Spirit of Life Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Charles W. Gaines. As a loving son, grandson, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin, and friend, he extended a wealth of love and kindness to everyone he encountered. His warm and genuine smile, along with his gentle spirit created lasting friendships. Trey was a remarkable young man that was liked by everyone he came in contact with. He is preceded in death by his grandmother: Joyce Phillips, aunt: Joyce McDaniel, and uncle: James Michael McDaniel. Joseph is survived by his loving and devoted parents: Joseph, Jr. and Terry Phillips, Houston, Texas; grandparents: Paul and Ella Vallier and Joseph Phillips, Sr.; one sister: Kristian Grant; one brother: Scorpio Arthur; seven aunts: Connie Phillips, Cynthia Sonier, Erica Jackson, Pamela Phillips, Sharon Brinkley, LaShonda Phillips and Sophia Phillips; one great aunt: Theresa Reddic; eight uncles: Craig Vallier, Danny Phillips, Robert Phillips, Rodney Phillips, Vincent Brown, Antonio Brinkley, Clifford Jackson, and Willmon Sonier; great uncles: Frank Henry and Jerald Vallier; niece: Kasie Williams; nephews: Davaris Grant, Jaden Arthur, and Markell Arthur; god parents: Hugh and Sheila Lister; god brothers: Christian and Justin Lister, and a host of relatives from Houston and Louisiana.
