

Joseph Cleophas Talbert, affectionately known as "Poppy", "JT", "Dad", "Bubba", Brother and grandfather was born April 26, 1950 to Willie Jean Sr. and Allie Lee Talbert, the youngest of five children. Joseph had a very affectionate, opinionated and benevolent spirit. There was never a stranger he met, who he would give freely of his time and often the shirt off of his back. He loved to display his unique style in clothing, his cavalier demeanor and his supreme cooking skills. Joseph was also a very accomplished man in both his personal and professional life. He was an entrepreneur, a risk taker and a great conversationalist. After Joseph obtained his high school diploma he joined the Army, where he served and protected our country. Thereafter, he was employed by Air Liquide where he was a warehouseman for over 10 years. Prior to getting hurt on the job, Joseph earned many accolades from Air Liquide including Employee of the Month, Employee of the Year and National Safety Excellence award. Unable to work, due to a back injury, did not stop Joseph from enjoying life. You would find him teaching others how to cook, how to iron and how to talk trash. He loved watching his country western movies, all and every sport spectacles and CNN. His greatest enjoyment was playing a game of dominoes or cards. In 1995, Joseph met and later married Dianne Talbert. Together, they lived and built a life of laughter and compassionate for one another for over 20 years. During this time they both joined and accepted Christ at Brookhollow Baptist Church, presided by Dr. Ralph Douglas West. Joseph was a loving father of five daughters. Madeline, Lachelle, Ever Shereece, Dana and Latacha. Joseph was also a loving grandfather to sixteen, 16, grandchildren. Joseph was preceded in death by his parents, Willie Jean Sr. and Allie Lee Talbert; three brothers, Willie Jean Jr., Eldrige, Johnny; and one daughter, Ever Shereece. On a crisp fall day, November 1st, God called him home. Joseph leaves to cherish precious memories with, his devoted wife, Dianne; his daughters, Madeline (Danny) Taylor, Lachelle, Dana (Angela) Warren, Latacha (Jonathan) Williams; Sister, Rev. Henerietta (Rev. N. Jordan) Mkwanazi; grandchildren, DeAnthony Sr., Tim, Kendall, Danny Jr., Lorenzo Sr., Alphonse, Labrea, William, Raymond; great grandchildren, DeAnthony Jr., Falyn, Chad and Lorenzo Jr., and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and neighbors.
