Josephine Martin

Jo dedicated her life to being a wonderful wife and mother. As a young lady growing up in Henryetta, Oklahoma she excelled at playing the accordion and piano. After marriage she moved to Baltimore, Maryland where her husband was employed making equipment for the US war effort. Shortly after the birth of their first child, Wayne, the family moved to Houston, Texas where they remained for the rest of their lives.

Jo had a passion for gardening and enjoyed growing flowers and plants not only in her own beautiful yard, but to give to her friends and to her son Wayne for his nursery as well. She was a dedicated Astros fan who would never miss watching their games or listening to their radio broadcasts. She had a wonderful sense of humor and was dearly loved by all she knew.

Jo is predeceased by her beloved husband of 57 years, Stanley Veitch Martin, and loving son Stanley Wayne Martin.

She is survived by her daughter Marcia Turner, grand-daughter Michelle Martin-Chapman and husband Mike, great grand-son Jackson, niece Janna Adamo, nephews Robert Scott Martin, Frank Martin, Carl Grossman, John Grossman, Frank Adamo, several great-nieces and nephews, and special long-time family friend Susan McConathy Hickman.
