

Juanita Gillingham, born December 5, 1924 in Houston, Texas passed away October 7, 2015. She graduated from Reagan High school and attended the University of Houston. Juanita worked as a wife, mother and homemaker but also enjoyed several years as a school secretary. She volunteered extensively with Girl Scouts for more than 20 years. She was a founding member and served in many capacities at St. Stephens United Methodist Church. She enjoyed cruising and traveling with friends and family, including many trips with the Airstream club. Juanita enjoyed square and round dancing and visiting her beach property next door to her high school friend. Juanita was predeceased by her husband of 63 years, Lawrence Gillingham. She is survived by brother, John and his wife Anna Marie Wier; son, Larry Gillingham; daughters, Penny Cronan and Cassy McLaren; grandchildren Krissi and her husband Aaron Chambers, Jason and his wife Michelle McLaren, Kyle Cronan and Kaelyn Cronan; great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. A viewing and visitation will be held at 10:00 a.m. and service at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, October 10, 2015 at St. Stephen’s United Methodist Church, 2003 West 43rd, Houston, Texas. An internment service will be held at 2:00 p.m. at Earthman Resthaven Cemetery, 13102 N. Freeway (I 45).
