Kiyoshi (Kayo) Sonoda passed away on June 17, 2013 in Houston Texas. He was born to Sadahiko and Tsugi Sonoda on June 26, 1928 in Maui, Hawaii. Kayo is preceded in death by his parents, sisters Hilda Taomae and Alma Ogata and brothers Masakazu, Sadao and Roy, his wife, Harumi (Terri) and daughter Janis. He is survived by his sons Bill, Mark and his wife, Cris; grandchildren Michael, Kasumi, Keiko, Christopher, Stephan, and Jonathan; sister Shirley and her husband Les, sisters in law Kay Maehara, Betty Sonoda and Marie Taira; and numerous nieces and nephews. Kayo loved family and sports, especially football, working outside and reading the newspaper. He was beloved by his grandchildren who enjoyed hearing his stories about growing up in Hawaii, having him read books and playing with him.
