Lilia was born in El Paso, Texas to Higinio M. and Rosalia Chavez Lopez, she was the eldest of 11 children.
She is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, Peter J. Baker; sons, Michael A. Baker and Peter C. Baker and daughter, Cristina Palmer. She also leaves behind six grandchildren, Allie N. Baker, Peter C. Baker II, Catherine E. Baker, Tony Trombley, Deanna Trombley, and Ethan G. Palmer. Surviving siblings include Marylou Howard, Theresa San Roman, Leonor Lopez, Emma Dempsey, Gracie Burdick, and Albert Lopez.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 12:00 p.m., February 19, 2011 at St. Jerome Catholic Church, 8825 Kempwood. The family will then receive visitors from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m., at Waltrip Funeral Directors. Memories will be shared at 3:00 p.m.
