RIP. Kind and open hearted woman. Meant a lot to have her acceptance in my younger years. 

I remember Nanny giving me a cookie and coffee milk in her house in Aldine when I was 4 years old when I was frightened by meeting all these new people for the first time. I remember her telling about her father as he crawled in that same house, long before I knew about Pretty Paper. I remember Nanny and Papa's weekend driving that huge car from house to house, family to family to check in, say hi, visiting their kids and their kids' kids on the weekends, year after year. I remember Nanny stockpiling gifts for everyone year-round in the closet in that guest room at Compte's Hill. I remember Nanny sending me a check when I was broke and alone at college, telling me it was all going to work out. I remember playing poker with Nanny and Papa every time I came by the Woodlands. I remember Nanny holding and kissing my baby daughter in Aunt's Lou's living room. I remember Nanny loving me unconditionally all the time. I wish I could be there today. I miss and remember my grandmother.

So sad for the family. She has been a part of my family for over 60 years. I loved her like a 2nd mother.

Never have I seen a more spirited lady in my life.  She was naturally funny and loved being around family and friends. If there was music she was dancing. She was a always in motion. God blessed her with a wonderful family who supported and loved her very much.  My most sincere condolences to Melanie, Rick,  and the rest of her big beautiful family.  May she Rest In Peace.
