Lillie Bell Ash

Mother Lillie Bell Ash was born on February 16, 1923 in LaGrange, Arkansas as the second oldest of 12 children to the late Mr. & Mrs. Will and Edna Jones. She accepted Jesus as her Lord and Savior at an early age in the Church of God in Christ in LaGrange, Arkansas. On the morning of Saturday, November 10, 2012 the Lord called his daughter, Lillie Bell Ash home. She was preceded in death by her late husband Willie "Buck" Ash and her son Elige Smith Jr. Mother Ash was known and loved by many as "Momma Lillie B." Mother Ash moved from LaGrange, Arkansas to Lexa, Arkansas where she was united in marriage to her late husband Willie Buck Ash. While in Lexa, she raised her 7 children. During this time she was deeply commited to the Lord and was a member of Second Baptist Church of Lexa. Later, she became a member of Southland Church of God in Christ (COGIC) where she served as an usher, missionary, and was one of the Pastor's Aids. She then pursued a career as a head cook of the National River Academy and Helena Country Club. Mother Ash continued her career until she retired in the early 80's. During retirement she pursued and obtained her G.E.D. Later, she moved to Houston, Tx for medical reasons. After visiting several churches, she found her church home at North Main COGIC and became a member in June 2005. As a member of the church, she continued to serve the Lord as one of the Mothers of the Church prayer warriors. During her time at North Main COGIC she recieved several certificates and accolades. She was also a prayer warrior at Sheepfold COGIC. She leaves to cherish her memory her brother Fernanious Percy Jones and sister Doris King, both of Houston, Tx. Three sons, Eddie Lee (Sharon) Howard of Salt Lake City UT, Sammie J. Smith of Houston, Tx, Dr. Earnest L. (Deborah) Harris-Senior Pastor of Houston, Tx, Kenneth D. Ash of West Corvina, CA, two daughters, Sharon L. Ash of Cordova, TN and Karon S. Ash of Houston, Tx. She also leaves 12 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, 25 great-great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. MOTHER LILLIE B. IS THE MOTHER OF 5 GENERATIONS.
