

Our beloved mother, Linda Nell Jones passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 19, 2024 at the age of 82. She was born on January 24, 1942 in Houston where she grew up with her parents and sister. Family was her greatest passion and she wholeheartedly embraced the role of mother and grandmother (Mamaw). She was adored by many throughout her life because of her gentle and caring spirit, her grace and poise through life’s adversities, and her fierce devotion to her family. She touched many lives with her radiant smile, effortless beauty and vibrant spirit. She will be dearly missed by all.
Linda attended Mount Carmel High School. She worked at Harris County Adult Probation Dept., Continental Airlines, Fedex and US Census Bureau. She was actively involved in the American Heart Association, Mended Hearts Club and Texas Children’s Hospital volunteer program.
Linda found great joy in traveling and she traveled the world with her daughters in the 80’s and beyond. She created unimaginable memories by spending vacations in Europe, Hawaii, Fiji Islands, Singapore, Hong Kong, Australia and Mexico numerous times. When her grandchildren were old enough, she started the adventurous travels with them through Europe as well. Her love for Akumal, Mexico started early and was traveled to constantly with her family. Linda also enjoyed many wonderful trips with her cousins and friends.
One of Linda's (Mamaw) greatest passions was her grandchildren. She enjoyed lunch/dinner dates, long discussions, college trips, shopping and sleepovers with them. She always offered the best advice and little pearls of wisdom to them that they will always cherish.
She is preceded in death by her parents Agee and Thelma Ezzell and her loving sister Blossom Byington.
She is survived by her three devoted daughters, Luana Owens (Gary), Crystal Northcutt Mikulencak (Jeff), Kathleen Brast (Steve), and her honorary daughter Julie Smith (niece). Her adored grandchildren: Lauren Owens, Caitlin Owens, Camille Owens, Nicole Northcutt Hanson (Jared), Connor Northcutt, Allie Brast Parasco (Nick), great grandchildren Mason and Peyton Parasco, and special companion, Chloe the cat. Also left to cherish her memory are numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service and Reception at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home, 6900 Lawndale St., Houston, TX 77023 on Saturday, December 14, 2024 at 11:00 AM. Inurnment will be at 2:00 PM for the family.
Her legacy of love and devotion to her daughters, grandchildren, family and friends will be forever cherished.
