
Lizzie Belle (Liz) Williams a former Kansas City, MO resident transitioned on April 12, 2012 7:50 PM at Memorial Herman Medical Center -Northwest, in Houston, Texas. As she received her wings into heaven, she joined her parents, Henry and Lilla Holloway; sister Geneva, and brothers Henry and Carl Holloway. Keeping her Memory is her daughter, Eva Jacinda Williams; Grandson Ethan Joseph (EJ) Cheely and his father Joseph Cheely of Houston, Texas. Sharing great memories are her sister, Martha Holloway of San Diego, CA; Sister-in-law, Barbara Holloway of New Orleans; Nieces and nephews: Stephanie (Mark) Summa of Long Beach, CA; Natasha (Chris) Mouton of Los Angeles, CA; Dawn Lewis of Hawthorne, CA; Adrian Chamberlain of San Diego; Ronnie (Kathy) Gillaspie of Grant's Pass, Oregon; Yolaund (also her God-daughter)(Michael) Sulcer of Inglewood, CA; Carvell (Jennifer) Holloway, of Compton, CA; Curtis Holloway of Fort Worth, TX; Henry Holloway & Ronnie Holloway of Covina, her Sister Friend, Lynda Moore Walker of Kansas City, MO and her family (F. Lynette Walker, Marcia (Maury) McDonald and Christopher Leake) ; Special daughter Anntoinette LaShon McGee (Anthony Fields) and her son Evan Fields of Burleson, TX along with many other relatives and friends. Liz and her family relocated to Kansas City from New Jersey in 1974 and she joined St. James United Methodist Church. She was a very active member and leader until employment with the Women's Division of the United Methodist Church required her to relocate to Dallas, Texas. After her health began to fail, she relocated to Houston from Dallas to be near her daughter and worshipped at St. John UMC when her health permitted. Liz was a housewife and student until she began work in the Early Childhood Education Program for the Kansas City, Missouri School District. After completion of her Tourism certificate, she began work at the Hyatt in Kansas City, MO as the Office Manager and Administrative Assistant to the Director of Sales (1980-82) (She was employed at the Hyatt during the tragic collapse of the sky walk). She was Co-owner and Operations Manager of Williams Rental, Inc. for three years. She was the first manager of LeJardin (now St. James Place). She was employed by the Kansas City, Mo School District as Lead Real Estate Technician with the Community Improvement Program, where she assisted with property acquisition for building and renovation of new schools. In 1997 Liz was hired as an Executive Secretary of Leadership Education for the Women's Division of the UMC where she was employed until her retirement in 2006. A Memorial Service will be held in Kansas City, MO at St. James UMC on Saturday, May 5 at 1 PM, Rev. Emanuel Cleaver II officiating. The family requests no flowers and donations to The Amazing Place in Houston or UMW Scholarships at St. James UMC. Arrangements were entrusted to Carl Barnes Funeral Services in Houston, TX.
