Lorene moved from Moravia, Texas to Houston, Texas in 1944 and worked at Folgers Coffee during WWII, where she met Harold who was working there as an electrician. They married in April 1945 and celebrated 66 years together until Harold preceded her in death. She converted to Catholicism in 1950 and was a Charter Member of St. Jerome Catholic Church where she currently attended. Lorene retired from SBISD with 25 years of service.
Lorene will be lovingly remembered as a tremendous cook, seamstress and gardener. Harold and Lorene had a wonderful long life filled with love and fun. Her family was her everything. She was loved by many and will be dearly missed.
Survived by her children, Donna and Ernest Rigsby, Marsha Block, Suzanne and Lonnie Varner, Harold and Sharon Frank; grandchildren, Beckie Rigsby (Frankie), Brian Rigsby (Vanessa), Kevin Varner (Katie), Aaron Frank, Travis Varner (Kirsten); great-grandchildren, Mason, Liam, Evelyn and William. Also surviving is Lorene's sister, Margie Sklar and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at St. Jerome Catholic Church, date and time will be announced at a later date.
