

Loretta Katherine Dittmann, affectionately referred to as "Mimi" and "MB", passed away early Tuesday morning, December 29, 2015. Loretta was born on September 9, 1937 in Longview, Texas, and lived her early years in Kilgore, Texas. She moved to Houston at the age of twelve, and attended Deady Junior High School and graduated salutatorian from Milby High School. She was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, consummate housekeeper and great cook with an extraordinarily green thumb. She was an ardent Texans fan and looked forward to watching professional, collegiate and high school football games. She also enjoyed antiquing whether it be in Round Top or on one of her many trips to the Northeast with her family.
Loretta is preceded in death by her husband of over 60 years, Louis E. Dittmann, Jr. of Houston, and step granddaughter Kathy Galmiche of Houston. She is survived by her mother, Georgia Jane Gumb, daughter and son-in-law, Dana and Joe Winter, and son and daughter-in-law, Bill and Tara Dittmann. She is also survived by grandchildren Tristan Dittmann, Layne Dittmann and Katelyn Dittmann, step-great grandchildren Joey Winter, Brittani Winter Tate, Jamie Winter, Katy Winter, Tony Galmiche and step-great great grandchildren Jude and Lennon Tate.
The family would like to thank Nancy, Karen, Rosemary and Paul of Kindred Hospice, and Dawn, Carla, Chalita, Levy, Elena, Maria, and Kennethia for their love, care and compassion in the recent weeks.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 2, 2016 from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm at Forest Park Lawndale. Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm with a private grave side service following. Reverand David Fraser will officiate the ceremony.
