Louis Baumann 85, of Pearland TX was accepted into the loving arms of Jesus Aug. 15, 2020. Louis was born in Houston, TX, May 31, 1935. He is preceded in death my his parents Louis P and Gladys Baumann, Wife Mary Baumann, and son Scott Baumann. Sister Rita Harper, brother Michael Baumann, and \brother in law Stephen Pierrel.
He graduated from St. Thomas High School in Houston and then enlisted in the US Navy. After discharge from the Navy he joined his father in the Marine Propeller business, well known today as Baumann Propeller. He eventually took over the business and retired after over 40 years of service. He was widely recognized as the BEST Prop man in the marine industry, and was instrumental in forming the National Marine Propeller Association (NMPA).
He loved boats, fishing and volunteering at the Sea Center in Lake Jackson. He was a long time member of the Lone Star Model Boat Club; where he raced small scale race boats, and was even a National Champion. He was known as a fierce competitor, but always went out of his way to teach others. He enjoyed eating breakfast with his buddies weekly at the Friday Breakfast Club. He loved showing off and riding in his ‘53 Bellair convertible - his dream car; which he lovingly referred to “his Hoop-dee”.
He is survived by his beloved wife Patricia, Sisters Barbara Varnum, CeCe King, and Marsha Baumann, and his children, Emily Mikeska (David), Vincent, Daughter in law, Dawne, Louie (Lisa), Matthew (Denise),Carl (Kimber) and Numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
He was a big man with an even bigger heart. He will be missed by so many.
