

Louise Helen LaPerna, 89, passed away into the loving arms of our Heavenly Father on April 14, 2014. Louise was born on August 19, 1924 in Reagan, Texas. She lived in Bremond, Texas for a few years before moving to Houston in the early 1930s. Louise was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Czerewaty Fastenrath and her husband of 55 years, Sam J. LaPerna, Sr. She attended St. Joseph's Catholic Elem. School and graduated from Incarnate Word Academy. She was a member of St. Anne's Catholic Parish. Louise was a loving and devoted daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and cousin. Although she was stricken with polio at the age of 2 1/2, she never allowed her physical challenge to interfere in keeping up with her friends and classmates as a young girl. Louise was known for her many amazing accomplishments from her teen years on, for her ability to remodel and maintain her mother's rental properties. After marriage, she became a dedicated homemaker and reared 5 children. Louise's numerous talents also included her vast creativity, maintaining her flower gardens, immaculate housekeeping and sewing. She was known to actually climb onto a chair that was placed on a table to keep her chandeliers sparkling! Everyone enjoyed her fabulous cooking and baking. Louise was a perfectionist in every endeavor and a delightful inspiration to all who knew and loved her! She will be deeply missed! Louise is survived by her children, Samuel J. LaPerna, Jr., Anna and husband, Robert Mac Donald, Tina and husband, Jim Debow I, John LaPerna, Joseph LaPerna and wife, Desiree. Grandchildren, Jim DeBow II and wife, Britt; Joseph, Christopher and Nicholas DeBow. Christine LaPerna; Magdalene, Jacqueline and Gabriella LaPerna. Great-grandchildren, Lillian Brunk, Allison and twins, Jimmy III and Danny DeBow, and George Torrez, all of Houston. Two close family friends, Clarence and Barbara Kelly of Houston.
Pallbearers, grandsons, Jim II, Joseph, Christopher & Nicholas DeBow, and sons-in law, Jim DeBow I and Robert MacDonald. Honorary pallbearers, Clarence Kelly, John Hill, Jim Landers, Lewis Sterns, Greg Licea, and Vincent Cooney. Rosary Services will be held at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home, 6900 Lawndale St., Houston, TX 77023 on Tuesday, April 22, 2014 at 7:00 PM. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Anne’s Church, 2140 Westheimer Rd., Houston, TX 77098, Wednesday, April 23, 2014 at 1:30 PM. Interment will follow Mass. Father Jay Walsh and Deacon John Hill will be officiating.
