Loujean, fondly known as Louie, was born May 15, 1955 in Pasadena, Texas at Southmore Hospital, the daughter of J.C. and Janiece Leadbetter. Their home was full of little girl giggles and lots of love.
Loujean graduated from Sam Rayburn High School in 1973, then went on to San Jacinto College.
Loujean married Thomas Trobaugh on May 17, 1979 at the Harris County Courthouse, with the Justice of the Peace Kenneth Pacetti officiating. Loujean and Tom were married 28 years and lived in Pasadena, Texas.
Loujean’s first job was at Globe department store in Pasadena where she met Tom. She later worked at First City Bank Houston as a Vice President over payroll. She was a homemaker before her last job at Veolia Environmental Services as payroll executive. Loujean retired in 2012 to become a Gigi to the loves of her life.
Loujean’s love for life was undeniable by everyone who met her. She was known for her generosity and was happiest when crafting, playing on the computer, and cooking for family and friends. She threw a great party with lots of decorations! She was the Martha Stewart of Pasadena. A true talent of hers was helping her children and grandchildren with their school projects. Loujean loved getting “A’s.”
Loujean was the family historian. She was invaluable when the family needed to know dates of events, who was there, and what food was served. Loujean was a great cook! One of her specialties was making eggplant parmesan. NO ONE made eggplant parmesan as good as she did! Oh, but let’s not forget the Texas Trash – NO ONE seasoned Texas Trash like she did! Loujean looked forward to holidays with her family. One of her favorite annual events was going to Fairfield, TX for Post Oak Cemetery Memorial each year, and it goes without saying that a trip to Collin’s Street Bakery was required for that weekend!
Those remaining to cherish Loujean’s memory are daughters Amy Gaffney and husband Charles, and Mary Daniels and husband Greg. Her most cherished loves were the grandchildren Raymond Gaffney, Vincent Gaffney, Charlie Gaffney, Joseph Gaffney, Harrison Gaffney, and Emily Daniels.
Loujean treasured her mother Janiece Leadbetter (a/k/a Momma, Granny, Great-Granny). Her sisters, Linda Livingston, Nancy Akin and husband Don, Jennifer Leadbetter, and Donna Roebuck-Newcomb. Her nieces and nephews Susan, husband Rigo, Clint, wife Jennifer, April, husband Mike, and Charlie; Great nieces and nephew, Karly, Jessica, Dakota, Evren, Anthony, Owen, Joshua, Alana, and Tessa.
Preceding Loujean in death are her spouse, Tom Trobaugh; son, Tommy Tiger Trobaugh; parent, J. C. Leadbetter; sister, LeaAnn Leadbetter Turner; brothers Rod Livingston and Kenny Newcomb; and niece, Tresa Roebuck Spencer.
Visitation will be held April 4th at 1:11 pm at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home and the funeral service following at 2:00 pm with Michael Tarte officiating.
Loujean’s favorite verse was:
Delight yourself in the Lord and he will give you the desires of your heart.
Psalm 37:4
